HISTORY
Staunton & Corse Football Club was formed in 1919 and after playing in the Staunton League between the wars, spent the three years in the Ledbury League before joining the North Gloucestershire League in 1950. The late 1950’s and early 1960’s were golden years for Staunton & Corse Football Club with Division 2 Championships in 1957/58 and 1962/63, and Hospital Cup wins in 1960/61 and 1961/62. The club contested a Minor Cup Final as long ago as 1961/62, losing to Alderstrop. The County Intermediate Cup was secured three years later after a 2-1 win over Newent Town Reserves.
Most of the seventies and eighties were spent in Sunday football until the decision was made to return to the North Gloucestershire League in 1987. The team has worked its way up through the divisions, winning the Hospital Cup in 1989/90 and the Division 1 Championship in 1995/96. Recent developments at Corse and Staunton & Corse Playing Fields have included the building of a new clubhouse and changing rooms. Inspired by the new facilities the club won Division 2 in 2000/01. The team managed to go the whole 2001/2002 season unbeaten and only drawing one out of 24 games.
The club then managed to secure the third promotion on the trot by claiming the North Gloucestershire Premier Division championship in 2002/03 which sent them into Northern Senior Division 2 which is where they are currently plying their trade. Season 2004/05 also saw the return of the reserve team into the North Gloucestershire League.
